Precinct captain lies

Chicago precinct captains often told lies to get votes.

When Independent Bruce Young ran for 44th Ward Alderman in 1979, some precinct captains campaigning for his opponent told Jewish voters that Young had thrown rocks at a local synagogue. That was a lie.

It’s amazing those precinct captains thought that people would actually believe something like that. But many of them often made up stuff because they thought it would influence voters.
