The Lundy/Bowman campaign

It was election night in the 1976 Democratic Primary. State Rep. Joe Lundy, who lost a close race for State Senator in a Rogers Park/Evanston district, was making his concession speech.

His running mate, Woody Bowman, who won a hotly contested race for Lundy’s representative seat, stood next to him, desperately trying to stifle a grin.

Like everyone else in the room, Bowman felt bad for Lundy. But he felt really good for himself.
